HiLi · Piazza di San Simeone

Rome at sunset

A two-hour small-group walk with a licensed guide, from Piazza Navona to the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain, and Piazza di Spagna. Why choose it: a first evening to get your bearings in the centre and hear the stories of the squares, knowing the Pantheon is only seen from outside.

Navona, Pantheon, Trevi and Piazza di Spagna at sunset

The experience

This is not a visit to the Pantheon. The listing states clearly: only external view, no entry, and the same applies to the Trevi Fountain. It is a two-hour small group walk with a licensed English-speaking guide, starting from Piazza di San Simeone, next to the fountain, and crossing the historic centre with stories, legends, and anecdotes.

The route: Piazza Navona for 20 minutes, the Pantheon from outside for another 20, a lesser-known stop for 20 minutes, then half an hour at the Trevi Fountain and half an hour in Piazza di Spagna, where it ends. One review describes it as the right way to get familiar with the city and understand how to get around.

Two rules. Those who arrive late do not have a guaranteed spot and will not be refunded. And the walk takes place even in the rain. To enter the Pantheon, a separate ticket is required: the official one costs €7 on Musei Italiani, and among the options with entry is the ticket with audio guide.

Monica was an excellent and prepared guide. She kept our attention throughout. There were only 2 of us on the tour, so it was very personal.
