The Pantheon rules are few and almost all come from the fact that it is a church. Covered shoulders, silence, no food. Others come from the time slot ticket: you enter at a precise time and not at another.
Below are the official rules from the manager and those that GetYourGuide listings add for their tours. No invented queue times: no official source publishes them.
The short answer
Cover your shoulders and avoid shorts and very short skirts, low necklines and see-through clothes. There is no cloakroom, so bring little. The Pantheon is open every day from 9:00 to 19:00, last entry at 18:30. On Saturday at 17:00 and Sunday at 10:30 there is Mass, and ticket sales stop one hour before. When it rains, water enters from the oculus.
How should you dress to enter the Pantheon?
With clothing suitable for a place of worship: covered shoulders, no shorts or very short skirts, no deep necklines or see-through clothes.
These are the manager's words. Many GetYourGuide cards go further and also require knees to be covered, with shorts, short skirts and tank tops among the things not allowed. In summer, a light scarf in your bag solves almost everything.
No source says what happens to those who show up in a tank top, and we do not invent it. The point is another: the ticket is valid for one time slot only, and a missed slot does not come back. The small group with exclusive access adds a useful detail: if the church closes to visitors for special events, you can move the visit or get a full refund.

Can you enter the Pantheon with a backpack?
There is no official published limit, but «there is no cloakroom service»: what you bring, you keep with you.
Some listings set their own rules for their tours. The walk to Trevi does not allow strollers, wheelchairs, large luggage, or large bags; the small group, as well as the Basilica of Neptune, excludes large luggage and bags. If you arrive with a suitcase, leave it first.
Also think about the meeting point. The ticket with app asks you to arrive 10 minutes early at Salita de' Crescenzi 35, to the right of the Pantheon, because the voucher alone is not valid for entry: the staff exchanges it for the ticket. Bring a charged phone, earphones, and a document, even a copy.
What are the Pantheon opening hours in 2026?
Every day from 9:00 to 19:00. The ticket office closes at 18:00, the last entry is at 18:30 (18:00 for groups and schools).
Opening hours may change for religious celebrations. The picture:

A time slot away from services. On Saturday at 17:00 and Sunday at 10:30 there is Mass, and ticket sales stop one hour before.
Book when the calendar is released: official tickets for each month go on sale in the middle of the previous month. Then choose the time thinking about the light. The beam that enters from the oculus moves during the day, like a sundial, and falls every hour on a different point of the wall.
On the first Sunday of the month, entry is free, but tickets are collected on site only and cannot be booked. If you need a fixed time, bear this in mind. Details are in free Pantheon.

How long does it take to visit the Pantheon?
One hour is enough for the rotunda. Guided tours last from 40 minutes to 1.5 hours; the ticket with app is indicated for one hour.
The audio guide ticket indicates 1 to 3 hours, and includes picking up the audio guide at Via dei Bergamaschi 49, a short distance from the Pantheon. If you want to combine the Pantheon with a walk, the full version of the walk with Trevi lasts up to 2.5 hours.

The Pantheon ticket in every option and, in the full version, Trevi, Piazza di Spagna and an ice cream break.

It rains inside. The oculus has never been covered and the floor slopes down about 30 centimetres towards the drains.
The water falls in the centre of the rotunda and slides towards the drains. For the visits, the card applies: the sunset walk and the Basilica of Neptune state that they take place even in the rain.
How should you behave inside the Pantheon?
In silence and with the phone on silent mode. No food, drink or smoking.
- Animals: not allowed, except guide dogs and certified assistance dogs.
- Groups: up to 25 people plus the guide; earphones required for groups over 6.
- Photos: the tour with the archaeologist excludes flash.
- Services: no sightseeing during Mass.

What to see near the Pantheon?
Piazza della Minerva with Bernini's little elephant, a stone's throw away; Navona, Trevi and Piazza di Spagna on foot; the Ghetto and Campo de' Fiori for eating.
The walks in this guide combine these points in a single tour. For the evening, there is the sunset walk, entirely outside. For lunch, the street food tour goes from the Ghetto to Campo de' Fiori with supplì, pizza, and gelato.
Two and a half hours of Roman street food between the Ghetto and Campo de' Fiori, with a guide.
