Free Sundays at the Pantheon

On the first Sunday of the month, the Pantheon is free for everyone. Here you will find the dates from November 2026 to June 2027 and how a non-bookable online entry works.

Among the Pantheon's free entries the official page lists under 18s, residents of the Comune di Roma, and the «first Sunday of the month». With the full price at €7 from 1 July 2026, that is €7 saved for an adult.

We calculated the dates below on the calendar. The entry rules come from the Ministry’s page, read on 13 October 2026: check it again before you travel, as hours may change for religious celebrations.

The short answer

The next free Sundays are 1 November and 6 December 2026, then 3 January, 7 February, 7 March, 4 April, 2 May, and 6 June 2027. The free ticket cannot be booked online: it is collected on site. At 10:30 there is Mass, and ticket sales stop one hour before.

What are the free Sundays at the Pantheon until June 2027?

Eight dates: 1 November and 6 December 2026, 3 January, 7 February, 7 March, 4 April, 2 May, and 6 June 2027.

They are the first Sundays of each month, nothing more. 1 November 2026 is also All Saints’ Day, a holiday: Mass follows the holiday schedule, i.e., 10:30, the same as Sunday.

We added the Saturday before each date. On Saturday at 17:00 there is the prefestive Mass, and ticket sales stop at 16:00. If you plan to do the whole weekend, bear this in mind.

Can you book the free ticket for the first Sunday online?

No. On the first Sunday and on other free days «no ticket will be bookable online». The ticket is collected on site.

This is the main difference from a normal day. On other days, the calendar appears on Musei Italiani mid-previous month and you choose the slot. On the first Sunday, no: go to the Pantheon and collect the free ticket there.

Entry works by time slots «until sold out». We do not know how long you wait on a first Sunday and we do not guess. Our advice is simple: arrive at the 9:00 opening, before Mass stops everything.

What time do you enter on the first Sunday, and what changes with Mass?

The Pantheon opens at 9:00. Mass is at 10:30, and one hour before, at 9:30, ticket sales stop.

During Mass «entry will be free and for worship only», and the basilica specifies that tourist visits of any kind are not permitted during services. You can enter to pray, not to take photos of the dome.

To see the Pantheon as a visitor, you have two windows: from 9:00 to 9:30, or after the service until the last entry. No official page indicates when Mass ends, so we do not write it either.

Who enters the Pantheon for free on other days?

Under 18s, residents of the Comune di Roma, and licensed tour guides, all year round. EU citizens aged 18 to 25 pay 2 euro.

If you travel with minor children, the first Sunday changes nothing for them: they are already free every day. It changes for adults, who pay 7 euro on other days.

There is also Mass, free for everyone and only for worship: Saturday and the eve of holidays at 17:00, Sunday and holidays at 10:30. All free entries, explained one by one, are in the free Pantheon guide.

How to dress and what to bring on the free Sunday?

Covered shoulders and no shorts or very short skirts. The Pantheon is a church, even when entry is free.

The official page asks for clothing suitable for a place of worship: covered shoulders, no clothing that is too short, too low-cut or see-through. Inside, keep quiet, phones on silent, no food or drink. Animals are not allowed, except certified guide and assistance dogs.

There is no cloakroom. A small bag makes your day easier. Other practical details are in the visit tips.
